Pakistan's Enemies Strategies

Shah Affan

The Indian media always claim that Pakistani media and policy makers make their policies by keeping India in mind. But they forget that they and their leaders have themselves not come out of Pakistan syndrome for the last 53 years. On every forum anti Pakistan propaganda is being staged by India. Indian policy makers are slowly advancing towards Europe to influence their leaders to see the South Asia from Indian perspective. Our leaders are so much engaged in Washington that they have completely forgotten Europe. We have not brought the world leaders attention properly towards India's arms purchase at an alarming rate, increase in defense expenditure, recent attacks on Kashmir borders, highhandedness of Indian armies in Kashmir, explosion in various parts of Pakistan, killing of minorities in the secular India etc etc. This could be viewed as a failure in diplomatic front. The transfer of missile technology to India by Israel and Russia has not raised any eyebrows in USA (former friend)) who is actively persuading China and North Korea to stop aiding Pakistan in the field missile technology. USA's unfinished business in Afghanistan after the Russian army's withdrawal in 80s has created a mess in this region. Pakistan has become a victim of terrorism and paying a high price for helping USA in the Afghan war. USA has turned its back towards Pakistan during the recent years. All the reprimand are meant for Pakistan and is being called an active breeding ground of terrorist. When attention of USA policy makers are directed towards its hard stance on a once friend (Pakistan) they deny this charge. But their action never supported their claim of still being friendly with Pakistan. Terrorism is a global menace but Pakistan is being singled out by USA. While India's non-committal to follow UN resolution on Kashmir, stock piling of arms in such a vast quantity and testing of Pakistan specific missiles capable of carrying nuclear warheads are not considered as a threat to peace. The whole world is silent over it. Our policy of "NO RELATION WITH ISRAEL" has brought India and Israel together as a strategic partner. India is also strengthening its ties with Taliban Opposition group to counter Pakistan's influence on Afghanistan. The recent bombing of Pakistan embassy in Afghanistan is an example of it. India is also seeking help of ethnic parties in Pakistan, who have been alienated by Pakistani leaders policy of crush and rule, to create anarchy in the country. Instead of resolving the problems of Karachiites they were dealt with an iron hand, which brought nothing but disenchantment among people. Here one should not forget Baluchistan where very little has been done for the development of that province. The Baluchis are also not pleased with the attitude of our leaders for neglecting that province. Our leaders have to take some political measures to avoid innocent Pakistani youths from falling into the hands of enemy's intelligence agencies, who unknowingly can harm the integrity of this nation and can play as their agents. Here this is also the duty of political party's leaders (PPP, Muslim League, MQM, ANP and others) to stop giving such statements that make their faithfulness to Pakistan suspicious. These politicians should remember that they are leaders because of Pakistan so they should stop licking the foreign dignitaries feet to come into power. The mess they have created in the country is beyond repair. In interior part of Sindh some groups and feudal lords are actively playing in the hands of RAW. Several religious groups who have terrorized the whole nation must be reined. These volcanic type situations must be addressed and resolved without further delay. Present government has to fight on several fronts. The mess created by political leaders and bureaucrats, ofcourse, cannot be fixed in few months. But some bold steps should be taken by the government to fix the current economic and law and order situation in the country. People's expectations were very high after the army takeover on Oct 12, 1999 but the euphoria is slowly dying down. An economically weak Pakistan cannot defend its border. Some real harsh measures should be taken to recover the looted money from these politicians. Gen. Musharraf should not restore democracy until the cleansing of these elements. A permanent ban should be imposed on those politicians who have looted the money during their tenure in the government office. As people of Pakistan are sick and tired of these corrupt politicians. To eradicate the bribery culture, Central Bureau of Revenue, Passport office, National ID card offices, Pakistani police, several development authorities and municipal authorities needed a complete overhaul. We are living with such a hostile nation in our neighborhood that a little mistake made by Pakistani leaders or its masses could bring the whole nation down. Our enemies are constantly watching our domestic policies and our behavior. For the country's interest petty issues and differences must be resolved at all level before it's too late as they say its better to be safe than sorry.
